scottrocksandsodoyouha asked: We were told we will all know each other very well"- you definitely will. Boundaries drop very fast in an EMT class. Trauma assessments help a lot, once you've touched just about every single part of someone's body, it's a lot easier to get to know them. I'm surprised your class is male dominated. The refresher class I just got out of was as well, but that is usually not the case. Anyway, good luck!!
Yeah definitely a man’s class this quarter hahaha. 46 guys and 6 ladies. It donned on me that first day in class seeing all those guys walk in that..hey, this is a male profession i’m walking into. What am I gonna do? Thought back to I’ve never come across a female EMT. My grandma has had many 911 calls. Always males. I know better though and know there are plenty of lady EMTs. =) I am feeling a little more comfortable with my surroundings after today and it was just CPR training in big groups and letting everyone critique us. And if it was a male dominated profession I sure would be rockin it. =P I’m very excited for what is to come and all I’m going to learn. How long have you been an EMT? It’s nice to talk to others in the profession.
